City Issues 501 Main Project Update; Parking Addition

COVINGTON, KY - The City of Covington has issued an update regarding the 501 Main project and the Parking Mitigation plan.

The 501 Main Parking Mitigation plan has officially been in effect Since Monday, October 16, starting with the exterior garage construction (please see maps below).

Beginning on Monday, October 23, a portion of the 501 Main lot behind 410-424 6th Street has been blocked off. As a result, the free daytime parking made available in the John R. Green lot has extended until 4:00 p.m. on weekdays (please see map below). Philadelphia Street between 7th and 9th Streets also became one way to free up more on street parking.

The 501 Main Parking Mitigation Plan will be in effect throughout the duration of the construction period. Once completed, a permanent parking plan will be implemented for the MainStrasse neighborhood.

Signage is also in place  to help direct visitors to available parking lots and to the valet stand.  Printed material has also been developed for the businesses to hand out to their patrons.
The 501 Main project is titled "RiverHaus" and is a high-end, residential development including 187 one- and two-bedroom units along with commercial space on the ground floor, and a parking garage.
