COVINGTON, KY – On Tuesday, September 12, the Board of Commissioners approved a five year business retention incentive for Blair Technology Group (BTG) to fuel the company’s future growth and further invest in Covington’s existing business community.

BTG is an ecommerce company that specializes in the sales and refurbishment of computing equipment. Located at 4314 Boron Drive, BTG has operated out of Johnny’s Toys in Latonia since 2012.

The approved incentive package provides BTG with a payroll tax reimbursement allowing the 46 employee company to create an anticipated 29 new jobs over five years and invest $4 million at their Covington headquarters.

Owner Andy Blair stated, “We’re extremely grateful to the City of Covington and its fantastic people for helping us with the resources we need to reach our potential. We love being part of this exciting city and hope to help push its growth throughout the upcoming years.

“I’d like to give a big shout out to the city staff members that helped with this. Their dedication and drive to make this happen was greatly appreciated."

The tech company is one of less than 20 Microsoft Authorized Refurbishers in the United States, selling over a million computers to all parts of the country.

Since 2005, BTG has surpassed $10 million in annual revenue and has grown from an 800 square foot basement to their current 52,000 square foot headquarters.

In 2017, the company continued to expand by opening Tech Castle, a 5,000 square foot retail store that sells pre-owned equipment. Additionally, BTG restored the infamous Johnny’s Toy Store Birthday Club.

In recent years the company has earned recognition for its success and innovation. Specifically in 2015, BTG was named as the Number Five Top Workplace in the Cincinnati area and owner Andy Blair was also named as the top leader amongst all small businesses.
