Upcoming Events

Free Swimming Lessons

There is still time to sign up your little ones for free swimming lessons! Children will have the opportunity to learn how to swim from the experts at SwimSafe. Lessons start on Monday, July 10 and extend to Saturday, July 15, daily from 11 a.m. to 11:45 a.m.

Register at the pools or contact the Parks and Recreation Department at 859-292-2151 or recreation@covingtonky.gov. Lessons are open and free for Covington residents only.

Covington Ice Cream Social 

Beat the heat and get your chill on! On Monday, July 17 from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m., stop by any City pool (Randolph, Goebel, and the Latonia Waterpark) and enjoy a free ice cream, filled with as many toppings as your heart desires (while supplies last). Brain freezes not welcome!

Kentucky Symphony Orchestra

We are excited to welcome back the Kentucky Symphony Orchestra (KSO) for its 23rd summer concert series at the Devou Park Band Shell! The series kicks off on Saturday, July 8, at 7:30 p.m. with a salute to America's independence. Grab your blankets and join us for a unique blend of patriotic fun!

Latonia  Outdoor Movie

Join students and their families from the Latonia Elementary Summer Scholars program on Thursday, July 13, for a free movie night filled with popcorn and fun! The movie The Incredibles will start at 8:30 p.m. at Latonia Elementary Pavement Park. Free snacks and drinks will be available while supplies last. This event is open and free to the community.

Tobacco Free Parks Public Meeting

On Thursday, July 20, the City of Covington will hold a public meeting to discuss and gather feedback regarding the proposed implementation of a Tobacco Free Parks ordinance. The meeting will feature a presentation from the Northern Kentucky Health Department and an overview of the proposed ordinance. A questions and comment period will follow the presentations.

PARK SPOTLIGHT: Randolph Park Shelter

The Parks and Recreation maintenance crew is putting the finishing touches on the brand new shelter at Randolph Park. The 1,558 square foot shelter will feature multiple picnic tables, restrooms, and new surrounding pavement and landscaping. The opening celebration will occur at this year's Old Timer's Neighborhood Reunion, the first weekend of August.
