Covington’s Community Developers Initiative Seeks Participants

COVINGTON, KY – The City of Covington is looking for potential participants for its Community Developer Initiative (CCDI).

CCDI is a community-based initiative intended to eliminate blight throughout Covington by returning abandoned or under-utilized properties to productive use. Projects may include the rehabilitation of single family homes, creation of a community garden, or other economic or community development.

The City has released a formal Request for Qualifications and is encouraging parties with a range of development experience to apply for consideration. This includes emerging developers with a track-record of completing at least one rehabilitation project on time and within budget as well as established developers from throughout the region.

To encourage developer applications, the City is waiving the $25 non-refundable fee to obtain the Request for Qualifications instruction packet.

Completed responses must be submitted to City Hall by 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 2. Responses will then be evaluated to determine eligibility. The City will then create a list of eligible participants and release to them a listing of available vacant properties.
