With Spring right around the corner, the City’s Recreation Department is about to enter its busy season. Here is a list of upcoming events and opportunities.

Summer Recreation Seasonal Job Opportunities

Applications are now being accepted for various summer recreation seasonal jobs.  Applicants may apply here.   Positions are available for Pool Managers, Assistant Pool Managers, Lifeguards, Pool Staff and Arts & Crafts Supervisor.  For additional information or if you have any questions please call the Recreation Department at 859-292-2151 or email us at recreation@covingtonky.gov .

Adult Softball Leagues, Registration Now Open

Registration for summer adult softball leagues are now being accepted until April 11, 2014. League fees are $415.00 and include 12 games and a single elimination tournament at the end of the season.  For additional information or to sign up a team please call or email the Recreation Department at 859-292-2151 or recreation@covingtonky,.gov

WHERE: Bill Cappel Youth Sports Complex & Randolph Ballfield.

WHEN: Leagues begin early May;  Men’s League scheduled on Tuesday & Thursday evenings at Cappel; a Men’s League on Friday evenings at Randolph Ballfield; a Women’s League on Tuesday evenings at Cappel and a Co-Ed League on Thursday evening at Cappel.

Annual Easter Egg Hunt

The Annual Easter Egg Hunt is a free event for children ages 3 to 12.  Additional accommodations are made for children under the age of 3 and children with special needs.   The event begins at 1:00 pm; the hunt begins promptly at 2:00 pm.  For additional information or if you have any questions please call the Recreation Department at 859-292-2151 or email us at recreation@covingtonky.gov. No registration required.

Annual Fishing Derby

A free children’s fishing derby for youth ages 5 to 15.  Bring your own pole and bait.  Stay around after the derby for a free grill out lunch for the entire family.  Prizes will be awarded during lunch.  For additional information of if you have any questions please call or email us at 859-292-2151 or recreation@covingtonky.gov . Registration on the day of the event  from 9-10am. Fishing is from 10-12pm.
