  • Historic Linden Grove Cemetery & Arboretum Offers A Parklike Space With A Purpose. It's Where History, Community And Nature Meet. The 9 member volunteer Board of Overseers works to operate and maintain this historic space. Pursuant to O/R-22-98 the City of Covington and Kenton County entered into an Interlocal Agreement to mutually maintain the Linden Grove Cemetery. An amendment to the Interlocal Agreement was passed by O/R-274-10 which increased the number of members from five to nine. The Interlocal Agreement provides that the City and County each shall appoint three members to the Board of Overseers. At least 1 At-Large member must be familiar with Cemetery operations.
  • The City of Covington Finance Department maintains all Cemetery funds and official records, and the Kenton County Attorney serves as Legal Counsel for the Cemetery Board. The City and County provide an annual allocation of $30,000 each from their respective General Fund operating budgets to provide for the Cemetery’s operating expenses.
  • The Board hires a Superintendent, currently Gary Davidson, and adopts an annual operating budget that provides for the costs of maintenance staff, equipment purchase and repairs, materials and supplies. The Cemetery has a small Perpetual Care Trust Fund and its uses are restricted by Kentucky law.
