Human Rights Ordinance


Passed unanimously on April 29, 2003, the City of Covington Human Rights Ordinance is an affirmative step towards protecting all individuals within the City from discrimination on the basis of disability, age, sex, race, color, religion, ancestry, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, familial status, marital and/or parental status, and place of birth.

The ordinance seeks to prohibit discriminatory practices within the areas of employment, housing, and public accommodations and established the Human Rights Commission, who continue to work to end discrimination in the City of Covington.
